In this key role as Civil Engineer Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from various market types and managing and utilizing shared support staff of engineers and landscape architects within the office to perform the necessary tasks to timely execute project deadlines.  The position will also require the ability to prepare proposals which may require due diligence, investigation of the site and understanding its jurisdictional requirements as well as interface with clients, other consultant team members such as architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, surveyors, etc. This role requires an expertise in engineering design, specifically within the land development market, requiring a highly skilled knowledge of zoning, stormwater design, utility design, site layout, zoning, production processes, and the ability to train others.

Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed in North Carolina and preferably in South Carolina.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering based projects in various market types including commercial, healthcare, multifamily, single family, industrial, institutional, and public-based projects required  
  • Standard civil engineering knowledge-base of all typical design documentation and plan sets, calculations, scheduling, project fees, coordination of personnel, etc.
  • Highly skilled land development engineering design with special focus/expertise in stormwater and utility design.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with typical infrastructure engineering software.  
  • Ability to provide project examples indicating strong knowledge of stormwater engineering, roadway layout, 3D surfaces, and advanced understanding of calculations. 
  • Adept knowledge of permitting process for Mecklenburg County, City of Charlotte, and surrounding counties, as well as experience in collaboration with CDOT, NCDOT, and SCDOT within a project scope.
  • Proven track record of managing projects in a profitable manner and on schedule.
  • Must be a legal and permanent US citizen
